I make these bracelets from discarded pieces of plumbing pipe. I measure and cut the pipe into six inch lengths, heat them with a torch to soften the metal, and crush them with a ten ton press. That gives me six inch strips of copper sheet. I heat them with the torch because getting crushed made the metal harden, and heat softens it. At this point the copper sheet is dirty and the inside is full of minerals from the drinking water, so I soak them in vinegar to dissolve some of that calcium, and give them a good scrub to clean them. After drying, I measure and mark the width I want for my bracelets. Then I cut the strips. I heat them with the torch. I pound the strips straight and flatten them, and measure and stamp each individual letter of my phrase. Then I put on my mask and gloves and file the sharp edges and do a nice polish all over with my bench grinder. Lastly, I form them into cuffs and put them in the tumbler to work harden.
All bracelets are stamped on a six inch recycled copper bar. The cuffs are formed to include a 1/2 to 1" gap, so they will be approximately 6 1/2 to 7" in diameter and can be adjusted somewhat to be bigger or smaller. The bar width is approximately 3/8 of an inch.

Why Use Affirmations?
People use affirmations for a variety of purposes. Generally speaking, affirmations are used to reprogram the subconscious mind, to encourage us to believe certain things about ourselves or about the world and our place within it. On the other hand when we feel bad about ourselves and have a negative attitude, we tend to engage in self-defeating behaviors which may cause negative outcomes, like financial mishap, interpersonal drama, or acute or chronic illness.

Hand stamping uses individual stamps lined up one after the other and hit with a hammer. The letters may not line up perfectly and some letters may be deeper than others.
