We make these bracelets from discarded pieces of plumbing pipe.
They feature neat designs that are made with a process called fold forming.
First we measure and cut the pipe into six inch lengths, heat them with a torch to soften the metal, and crush them with a ten ton press. That produces two six inch strips of copper sheet. Next we heat them with the torch because getting crushed made the metal harden, and heat softens it. At this point the copper sheet is dirty and the inside is full of minerals from the drinking water, so we soak them in vinegar to dissolve some of that calcium, and give them a good scrub to clean them. After drying, we measure and mark the width needed for bracelets and cut the strips. Heat them with the torch again. In this case we fold them with our hands after they have cooled and pound them flat at the fold. And then heat them, let them cool and open them and pound again. We do that over and over until we have achieved the design we want. Then put on mask and gloves and file the sharp edges and do a nice polish all over. Lastly, we form them into cuffs and put them in the tumbler to work harden.

All bracelets are stamped on a six inch recycled copper bar. The cuffs are formed to include a 1/2 to 1" gap, so they will be approximately 6 1/2 to 7" in diameter and can be adjusted somewhat to be bigger or smaller.

Due to the recycled nature of this copper, it may be slightly distressed looking. There may be scratches or marks in the metal, or the band may not be totally straight. These imperfections are not to be seen as defects, but unique qualities of using recycled or reclaimed metals. We try our best to keep these imperfections to a minimum.
The cuff you receive may look slightly different from the one pictured, but it will be equally beautiful.
