These earrings were made by encasing real Mother Fern leaves in recycled copper. Its a process we do in the studio called electroforming.
You can find a smaller version of this style here.
What makes this fern so unique is how the baby plantlets are produced on the upper surface of the fronds on the mother plant (hence the name 'Mother Fern'). The plantlets fall off of the mother and are easily rooted if the soil conditions are right.
They are hung on handmade 14K rose gold ear wires.
Electroforming is a process where we take copper from a sacrificial anode and deposit it onto our organic material using an electrical current. There really is a leaf in each of these earrings.
We ship them in a Kraft gift box for sweet gift giving and safe shipping.
