These spiral earrings were made from broken brass drum cymbals.
The process from scrap to jewelry is a fun and labor intensive process. We begin by making a thin cut along the edge of the cymbal (cymbals are very tough and sharp) and as we cut, the metal forms a spiral. Then we punch and drill a hole in each for the ear wire. Next, put on mask and gloves and file the sharp edges and do a nice polish all over. From there, they go into the tumbler to further polish and work harden. After that, they get their (recycled .925 sterling silver) ear wires and matches.
